Pranathi selects wedding pattu from Kanchipuram

Preparations are in full swing for Tollywood superstar Jr NTR’s wedding on May 6 in Hyderabad, the actor is tying the knot with Lakshmi Pranathi, daughter of Studio N channel’s chairman Narne Srinivasa Rao.

The couple got engaged in April 2010 at a private ceremony which saw only close friends and relatives participating in it, but the wedding next month is said to be a grand affair with the who’s who of Hyderabad expected to make an appearance at the event.

According to close sources, both the Nandamuri and Narne families are busy ensuring that the big day is an affair to remember, shopping is on in full swing too.

A family member recently disclosed that the bride’s family was very particular about purchasing the traditional pattu sarees only from Kanchipuram. One hears that Lakshmi Pranathi, along with her mother and aunt, visited the silk city (via Chennai) recently to shop for her wedding trousseau.

Sources also reveal that the bride-to-be had ordered for some custom-made sarees and the ladies purchased three sarees worth Rs 1.10 crore.

These special sarees are said to be woven with pure gold and silver zari and feature an elephant motif that has been expertly crafted near the border. Sources add that they bought a saree worth Rs 50 lakh for the wedding day and two more in the range of Rs 20 lakh for the pre-wedding ceremonies.
